Yes. Registration fees apply and is usually set by the host G20 hosting country.

No. As the African Union’s participation at the G20 YES is relatively new, participation (registration, hotel, flight and feeding) is all self-funded for now. The value from being a delegate, however, is immeasurable. 

Being a member of the African Union means a country belongs to the continent’s main political and economic organization. Think of it as Africa’s version of a regional union where countries work together on shared goals, while each nation remains independent.

For a member country, this means it can:

Work with other African countries on peace, security, and conflict resolution.
Promote trade and economic growth, including initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area, which aims to make it easier for African countries to trade with one another.
Coordinate on major issues such as climate change, public health, education, infrastructure, and technology.
Participate in continental decision-making through meetings of African heads of state and ministers.
Support free movement initiatives, although the level of implementation varies by country.

The African Union has 55 member states, representing every internationally recognized country in Africa.
